I've been having frustration with bad slash-date processing in v 3.0.1-1. (Previously reported as bug and now fixed in SVN.) A couple of questions: 1. Is there a published or other way to predict when new releases will happen? [Waiting for a release is one thing. Waiting for a binary to show up in your distro's repository is another. Fedora 8 is still at 2.2.10.] The solution is to get the release source. 2. I broke down and got the current stuff from SVN, which seems to work very nicely. However, there is a big warning dialog that comes up and says that this is not release code and may be risky to use. My question, if we are bold enough to dig into SVN, how "risky" is it in practice? What goes into new releases -- a big regression test series? Or is it like my other projects, where somebody says "It looks good enough to me", and pushes a button. ;-) Inquiring minds want to know... -- Martin Ewing, AA6E Branford, CT |
