No, and this would not be a good idea, startup times and such,
recognizability with the chosen theme, ... .
The translation is the gnome/gtk translation, and one would expect that to
be ok.

Hi,

Tonight I worked a looong time to try to find the string "Clear" in the 
Clipboard window in ordet to do a consistent translation regarding "Clear 
_all" and "Clear" . Finally I looked at the scratchpad.glade-file and found 
that it was a "GtkButton" called "btn_clear" and the translation for that is 
done outside gramps including choice of shortcut key. 

Has it been discussed to skip the GtkButtons in order to have full control 
over gramps and its translations?

OK, Good to know. The problem, as translator, is to know if a string is used 
as a button, and if there is gtk-button next to it, with a given translation, 
that you should adapt to.
