Yes, but you also need to add the template {{languages|GRAMPS:Language_policy}} to both pages so the language bar appears allowing people to select the language (most people are not logged in, french people will see this in english or will come from google directly to the french page). This is what the template {{call_lang|link here|nl|text}} is for. It will call the page 'link here' for language 'nl' and fall back to the root english version if the nl page does not exist yet. On creating the page GRAMPS:Language_policy/fr you can replace all [[page allo]] by {{call_lang|page|fr|allo}} and all links will work. As soon as french pa= ges are made for the pages called, the french page will be used. The only problem is the sidebar to the left of the screen. The sidebar is attached to the language setting, so is French *only* if in your preference= s you say you want the site in french (special pages will then also be translated then). However, the links in the sidebar can be to only one page, so they always link to the english pages. With some template vodoo one would be able to so= lve this I think, but I can't be bothered for now to try to figure it out (eg l= ink to a page that queries the language setting and based on that returns the required page in correct language, would only work for logged in people however). Feel free to suggest/try something. Benny ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message was sent using IMP, the Internet Messaging Program. |
