I was reading the fine Wiki about using Associations to record that a
person was, say, a godparent. I'm not sure my system is working
right, however. In most dialogs in Gramps, there is a drop-down list
of the Gramps-supplied choices and then the ability to type in any
value you want. When I activate the 'Person Associations' dialog,
the default value "Godfather" is shown but there is no list of other
choices. By comparison, the Internet Address Editor tab shows an
arrow that activates the list of Gramps-supplied choices.
I'm running Gramps 3.4.2-1 on OS X 10.6.8. I installed it with
MacPorts, so it is more like a unix install--with the prefix
/opt/local--rather than a bundled .app.
