I asked a bit ago if anyone had seen a seg fault with Gramps 2.2.4
immediately upon startup. None had, so I went looking elsewhere for the
Bottom line is that I needed Gnome 2.16, which came with Ubuntu 6.10.
An upgrade to 6.10 from 6.06 solved the problem.
For the longer explanation, a call to the Gnome file dialogs would cause
the crash. I found the problem with Gramps 2.2.4 upon startup, though
2.0.11 worked fine. I then had Thunderbird crash upon trying to pick an
attachment to an email, then Gimp crashed when doing a file...open.
Other people were reporting the problem to the gnome app of their choice.
I mention this so there's a record of the resolution in case someone
else sees this bug.
