Dear all, so has anyone an idea why nstallation stops as quoted below? I tested the factory version 3.0.1 with the same negative result. Hi, OpenSuse 11.1 seems to use an other name for _bsddb module ! (I don't have this problem with OpenSuse 10.3 and 3.0.4) Can you try this on command line : $ python /usr/lib/python2.6/test/test_bsddb.py (module on python-devel.rpm) Did you try to install SVN version ? Maybe ./autogen.sh will check missing libs or versions ! Note: gramps-3.0.4 tries to provide a better support for python 2.6 Maybe there is a missing patch on GrampsLogger/_ErrorReportAssistant.py? I hope this could help ! Jérôme Rapinat Jürgen Heiler a écrit : > Dear all, > > so has anyone an idea why nstallation stops as quoted below? I don't use SUSE but here is a search on rpmfind: http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=_bsddb.so&submit=Search+... I suspect that _bsddb.so was left out of the standard Python package, or has moved to a different package. One could try one of the Python2.5 rpms for your version of SUSE. (Warning: I have no idea what this will do to your system). Can someone who has GRAMPS working on SUSE post what they had to do to get it working? -Doug |

Also, there is an other index on : http://packages.opensuse-community.org/ > The test shows: > > python /usr/lib64/python2.6/test/test_bsddb.py > Traceback (most recent call last): > File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/test/test_bsddb.py", line 7, in <module> > import bsddb > File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/bsddb/__init__.py", line 64, in <module> > import _bsddb > ImportError: No module named _bsddb lib64 !!! Is there correct symlinks ? Did you compile Gramps-3.0.4 for 64 bits ? Douglas S. Hi Jerome, I have no problem with autogen.sh, no missing items.
