Having imported a middle order GEDCOM (6000 entries) into GRAMPS 1.0.7.
I found that I needed to edit the string " bef ORE" in Dates to
read "before" in a number of instances.
As yet I have not found a way to edit this Globally other than open the
actual GEDCOM in a Text Editor.
Doubtless users will have a number of occasions to need to edit their
data on a global basis in the future - Particularly after importing
Perhaps a utility for this purpose deserves consideration...

What did you export from prior to importing into Gramps? If it's not
gramps->gramps, I'm not really sure what Gramps can do about third
party gedcom verification _within_ strings.

sed s/\ bef\ ORE/before/g
Just pipe in your gedcom (eg via `cat`) and redirect (typically '>'):
cat my_gedcom | sed s/\ bef\ ORE/before/g > my_gecom_fixed
