Sandra, The problem is that you use the binary format to upgrade, and this is very problematic for different reasons. How to continue is in http://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Recover_corrupted_grdb So, you have a grdb file, that means the previous version of gramps was 2.0.x or 2.2.x. Do you still have the database environment: ~/.gramps/grampsdb If so, backup this and the grdb by taking a copy of it. Then, try the dump/load tool as explained in http://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Recover_corrupted_grdb#Version_2.2.x:_GRDB_corruption There are several possibilities: 1/ dump/load fixes it and the created file is in a good state 2/ still problems, and you have the environment: then we copy the environment in an old linux distro, and open the grdb again with the previous version of Gramps, and do export to xml. 3/ we find another solution You should be able to try 1/ yourself. If problems, mail me back. Benny 2010/8/23 Sandra Carral <s_carral@...> > Sometime last year I created a family tree with some version of gramps I > had back then in my computer. Do you have gir1.0-glib-2.0 installed? This solved a GObject error a few weeks back. The only explanation seems to me to be some problem with GObject; some version incompatibility as you get some messages like: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GtkWindow) /Peter > I am running the 64 bit sidux hypnos and gramps ran fine on it until a > few days ago. > > Al > > On 08/12/2010 12:58 AM, dai wrote: > > Hi, > > > > I'm running sidux hypnos fully dist-upgraded (32 bit) and gramps > > running OK here. > > > > Dai > > > > On 12/08/10 06:42, Peter Landgren wrote: > >> Hi, > >> > >> Has there been any updates in the system recently? > >> > >> /Peter > >> > >>> Hello, > >>> > >>> My gramps 3.2.3-1 has been running nicely on Sidux 2010 until > >>> yesterday. Yes, I do updates whenever I add new applications, etc. as suggested by the sidux manual. I also did an upgrade a few days ago. I am not sure, but this may have been when my problem with gramps started. The upgrade is a big deal; kind of like a reinstallation. I did the upgrade because I was hoping to fix a problem I was having with using the gnash plugin for playing videos in iceweasel (used to be firefox). Hi, Are you sure you have the dependent software created for python 2.7.0 installed? I don't think the pyxx are ready for python 2.7.0 in Windows yet. At least they can't be found on Internet. I think that if the Gramps installer can't find dependent software, then python can't find either. /Peter > I am not sure where to install the dependent software so that windows > can auto-detect(?).
