Rene, Thanks for the report. This is a problem that is known to occur when you have a very large note in your database that takes up more than one page. The problem is in the Reportlab package (which Gramps uses to generate PDF). Unfortunately, as hard as I've tried, I can't find a way to work around this problem. If you want to generate a PDF, I suggest you create the report in ODF format and use Open Office to export it as PDF. This started out as a bug report of sorts. The other day I lost all my data for unexplained reasons, which might or might not have been gramps' fault (Firefox went nuts too, so I rebooted at that point). My complaint was going to be that my constant checkpointing ("Tools / Revision Control / Checkpoint the database") didn't seem to help me recover anything. "Tools / Revision Control / Checkpoint the database / Retrieve" didn't seem to do a thing. However, after a very nice guy brainstormed with me in #gramps, I figured out how to use RCS to go back a version, and I recovered most of my data. Which leaves me with my suggestion: set up some way for hapless dopes like me to go back a version, in case the corrupt data was checkpointed (as it was in my case). |

This issue has already been resolved, and will be in our next point release (probably next weekend). Until this release comes out, you can follow the Subversion instructions on the SourceForge page to grab the latest copy. http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=3D25770 Don On Sun, 2006-07-02 at 14:38 -0500, B Kirkpatrick wrote: > User Information: > =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D >=20 > This occurred at the initial start of 2.1.6.
