This is fixed in version2.2.10, package for ubuntu available on our website
Note that GRAMPS is now already 3.0.4, also for that a package for ubuntu is present

Before upgrade, export your data to .gramps xml files for backup purposes. 2.2.10 exports all and is hence somewhat more complete than 2.2.8, so first upgrade to that, then export then major upgrade to version 3.x is the best
