Aha!  I installed new version AND created a new empty database BEFORE issuing IMPORT -- it worked.  Thanks.

A database table is not found which indicates some bad initialization of the database.
Was this an import in an existing database?

Note that version 3.0.4 is the most recent version (you have 2.2.10), and GEDCOM import is rewritten in the 3.x series. It should work in 2.2.x though. Try restart and import in an empty database.
