For as far as i can tell right now, there is one of two ways to handle the splitting up of gramps into several little sub projects of the whole!  It just depends on how we want to do it?

1) Have one central customized setup.py script which will handle separating  the project into smaller pieces (core, gui, cli, and web).  It can centralize the smaller processes into one file...

2) Having separate setup.fg files within the project within (gen, gui, cli, and webapp) to handle their own little separating work?  I would also like to see about creating a package for just i18n as well?

Either one of these will work, but one file customized into separating and packaging the sdifferent interfaces would seem to work best to me...

Users however seem to like it more to download one 200 Mb file instead of 10 of 10 Mb.
From a usability point of view, a single package is best, so go for that now.
From a technical point of view, splitting it up is nicest, but geeks can delete what is installed in excess anyway :-)

Rob G. Healey
