It is a good Idea to continue developing census addon.
I use it for adding own census data to gramps db.
So I would like to habe a possibility to devellop own census sheets which are capable to record local tax lists and soon.
I miss the possibility to choose existing census sheets eg. at a side bar or gramplet. there I could choose to add data using an existing sheet, print it or add a new census sheet. the census sheet should be linked to a source - may be each record via citation to the source.
source or citation should have media
on designing the census sheet it would be useful to link a census field to a DB field, so eg. entering a place in census would lead to a place-event in DB. Every census record should have a note field where the written name can be recorded, which might differ from the connected DB-Name-field.
So in the end we would have some sort of table with colums like in census and rows representing persons in DB
I hope you can understand.
My english is not so good.
perhaps census plugin could replace csv import which doesnt work fine fo me.
I suggest the following:
There might be an excel sheet or a table on a website, which I would like to import. I could copy that table and paste it into an empty "census sheet", Thereafter I would determine coulumn names and bound DB fields and  on enter the sheet would import the set.
What do you think about?

Benny has suggested that I make the census addons part of the core
Gramps functionality.

What do you think about this?

Should a census become a certificate?

How should we integrate certificates into the Gramps user interface?
I agree with Benny here. We can expand the Source view for this purpose, which can provide a tree view of:
- Author
- Source (Title)
- Certificate / Citation
- Citation text (note) / Persons found in the certificate

Further wishes:
- In place editing,
- Replace the citation term with something like source record (which may be a certificate), to avoid confusion with as it is more common used to identify or reference a source.

I would love to have something that's sort of mixture between the catalog and source box on FamilySearch. That's because the catalog provides elements like author and title, with better definition of the actual artifact than the title you find in the source box. And the source box, because it has the details, and fields for URL and citation.

I somehow hope to be able to think up something that supports evidence as suggested in

but without all those templates. I have those in AQ and RM, and I find them way too difficult to use, and a waste too, because they don't cover local certificates anyway.
