A good question.  The feature request asks for trailing spaces to be
trimmed from certain fields in the editors.  I saw that making a very
simple change to a single line in the MonitoredEntry class would achieve
this.

Probably not.

I thought that I would ask on the list because we might want to include
this in 3.3 if we restricted ourselves to just the basic change.

I cannot think of a real problem. Nevertheless, please post this question on the user list to see if users that are on the list agree to this.
