A subsidary question is what a gramps version is able to import
(LF, CR-LF, CR) under Windows and Linux.
I haven't tested all combinations, but I can import files generated
by Windows programs like AQ, PAF and RM in Linux Gramps. There is a
problem with FamilyTreeMaker though
which I can reproduce here with Linux Gramps. And I think that this
may be related to CR-LF, because there is code to handle this case,
which may not work if an extra CR is found. That's just a guess,
though, and I haven't tested that guess yet.
