Hello cylverbak,

Thanks Brad, it worked but it took some fooling around . . .
YW. Yes, it took me a while, too. I discovered that entering a data
tag was easy enough, but if I clicked "okay" to save the source before
I'd moved the cursor out of the data field being edited, it didn't get
saved and therefore wouldn't show up in the census gramplet. Also, I had
to move to another individual and then back before what I'd entered
would show up in the main gramplet window.

This looks like a bug - I'll have a look at it.  The gramplet should refresh when changes are made to the database.

So far though, I'm not totally sure I really need the census gramplet,
as it seems to require a fair amount of extra data entry. Much of which
I've already entered in another way.

The census gramplet is most useful when you want to add the details in the columns of the census as attributes on the event references for each person.  In this case, it will save you a lot of mouse clicks and/or keystrokes.

The gramplet doesn't do anything that you can't do using the standard interface.

If you want to record the details of the census form in a "transcript" note, then you will not gain much advantage from the gramplet.

Nick.
