    Hallo,

    Hello,

please don't use German in GpsMid's forums if it's avoidable.

    Glad you like GpsMid.

    To your questions:
    1) There's no toggling between place and street search but you can search first for the place and display it on the map. In a second search for the street and order the sort results by distance (this ordering should be probably the default but isn't yet)

    2) The maxspeed of the current way is displayed after the name of the current way (maybe sometimes only visible in landscape orientation). There's no way to have the speeding sign and an overspeed alert all the time except for maybe putting in a negative tolerance in Setup/Audio, e.g. -200, turning on visible alerts and off audio alerts.

    3) Something like this is currently developed, turn on predefined waypoints in recording rules and you'll get some more (currently hard-coded) options on the Recordings menu. This is only available in the nightly builds not in a release yet.

    Hello,
    thanks for the replies.

    2) The maxspeed of the current way is displayed after the name of the current way (maybe sometimes only visible in landscape orientation).

    Ok I have found now

except for maybe putting in a negative tolerance in Setup/Audio, e.g. -200, turning on visible alerts and off audio alerts

    .
    -200  results in an error
    but -99 works correctly fine!

    3) you'll get some more (currently hard-coded) options on the Recordings menu. This is only available in the nightly builds not in a release yet.

I downloaded the version from nightly buildsThursday, 26-Apr-2012 14:54:20)
Very good improvement but still not quite perfect, but is still in progress.

    I've found:
5.) The X button is missing the option of entering the number (%)

6.)I think it would be better.
      To record the maxspeed
    it is makes sense to have only buttons. with 30 50 60 70 80 90 100

It's easier to push a button while driving
    as the input of numbers.

The menu buttons should remain displayed after pressing a button
and not  switch back to the screen, and not in the view of the map

7.) Is the Java source code  (GpsMid) from somewhere to Download available?

    Sorry for my bad English

You're welcome, and thanks for reporting the issues!

Also, current snapshot can be used to show the speed limit - perhaps not quite what you wanted, as it requires the split-screen mode to be on and to show the tacho screen. But if you do that, you'll see a speed limit sign for the current way in the tacho screen, without tweaking with speed alert tolerance.

    Hello,

    works the Speedlimit of GpsMid
when the streets are registered with
    maxspeed: forward or maxspeed: backward

After a test, I think no

I can confirm they don't work - I wasn't aware of those tags. Have missed something like that when mapping, though, so I can see how they would be useful.

Not sure how complicated to add these to GpsMid, might be somewhat tricky.

    Hello,
It is already planned or in progress, the tags
    maxspeed: Forward and maxspeed: backward
    to integrate into GpsMid?

A first step might be possible the
    Tags only show
    Possibly the tacho screen?

    show:
    maxspeed: forward =
    maxspeed: backward =

    second step display:
I drive on the road OSM forward or backward

I know it's easy to write to me this,
but a control of the tags without the information is
    difficult.

    greeting

    In German Language:
    Hallo,
ist es schon geplant oder in Arbeit   die Tags
    maxspeed: Forward or maxspeed: backward
    in GpsMid zu integrieren?
Ein erster Schritt wäre es vielleicht möglich
die Tags erst mal nur anzuzeigen
    Evtl. im Tacho Screen ?

    Zeigen : maxspeed: forward =    ________ maxspeed: backward =_______

    Hello,
    two questions

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3523120&group_id=192084&atid=939977 - we can continue the discussion there

    1. Is there something new with Maxspeed?

    2. Is that still relevant?
    http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/gpsmid/index.php?title=Compiling

Q: What is required to compile the source for J2ME targets? Where do I get the required packages?
    A: You need
A Java Development Kit (JDK), naturally. You need a Java 6 compliant version to compile GpsMid which is only available from Sun at the moment.
    • J2MEPolish, the framework used by GpsMid.
    • WTK 2.5.2 to provide the standard J2ME libraries used by GpsMid. Also brings you an emulator running on your PC.
    • Ant, the build tool used by GpsMid.

I need the old Java Development Kit (JDK), 6.X
Or is also the new 7u4?

    In German Language:
    Hallo,
    zwei Fragen
    1. Gibt es was neues mit Maxspeed ?

    2. Ist das noch aktuell?
    http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/gpsmid/index.php?title=Compiling

Braucht man das alte Java Development Kit (JDK), 6.X
Oder geht auch das neue 7u4 ?

    Gruß

JDK 7 seems to work - current snapshots are compiled with ubuntu 12.04 java7, which is versioned as 7~u3-2.1.1~pre1-1ubuntu2 and I haven't heard anyone complaining.
