As can seen in the picture attached vs. http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=48.139939&lon=11.591768&zoom=18&layers=M there are many clickable housenumbers. E.g. http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/292291031 which is a shop/video not in the style file available. Therefore I wonder if we have only a housenumber if the url/phone info should be included in the map data.

    Hmm - apparently goes this way:

    * we have a eature to show clickable markers for everything on the map with urls and/or phones
    * apparently in map properties you have housenumbers enabled? (need to make sure that having url & phone doesn't bring on the map _everything_ in map data which has urls/phones, even if not enabled in style file)

    -> the housenumber node has url/phone, and is a marker, and so is clickable on the map, looks right to me, was there a bug somewhere?

    But yes, I can see that some configurabilty for housenumber markers might be useful to have. I'd actually sometimes like to have all housenumbers as markers on map - there's the route to menu choice, which routes exactly to the place of the marker. Preferably should be switchable in GpsMid though, not just .properties.

    Would a properties option something like this cover what you're after:

    houseNumberMarkers = always | onTags | onName | never

    Can make some or all of that a GpsMid option also, though in that case it wouldn't save map data space.

    Always would have all housenumbers as markers. onTags (a lousy name but anyway) would do what you're after if I get this right, add marker to house only when the other tags of the housenumber put the housenumber on the map. onName would put markers on anything which has a name tag, house number, and url or phone. Never would take away marker from anything with a housenumber.

    I'm not planning to add the .properties / GpsMid feature before release, and I think we could go with the way it is.

    But if there's a simple way to change, we could also change the default to be (more like) what you expected.

    IMHO the problem is rather the POI name/type not included in GpsMid because the node is used for the housenumber instead.

    I think there's a priority or something we can set in style-file so other POI types will be preferred over the house number. This is something I'd like to have in the release.

    A better more-general solution of course would be to create two nodes - one for the housenumber and one for the POI. But I think there's already somewhere a request for this.

    But housenumbers will cause frequent POI collisions so it seems worth to do a bit style-file tweaking here to not lose POI informations in the map.

    But I thought you said the shop/video was not enabled in the style file? When it's not enabled in style file, it shouldn't be included in the map as that POI type, right?

    Yes, you are probably right, thought I saw other POIs as well but no more sure.

    Would probably make sense to remove clickability from housenumber nodes with no other matching entries in the style-file to avoid confusion.
