I have a corrupted .usr waypoint file from a lowrance sonar unit (LMS-332.) I am running GPSBabel 1.4.1, trying to convert the file into a readable format to extract the majority of the data. Using the GUI I can load about 60% of the data before I recieve the following error. "Error running gpsbabel: Process exited unsucessfully with code 1."
When using the Lowrance viewer, I get a buffer overrun error. Is there anyway to convert the existing data on the file, into human readable text. There are waypoints that I need extract, but all I need is the Lat/Long info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the file, but it's too big to post in this list. If somebody can help me translate, or troubleshoot the error, I can email them the file. I am fairly technical, but not a programmer. The translation between the proprietary lowrance machine code into a text format is not as simple as I would have hoped.
Once again, thanks for the help in advance.
