I try to convert GPS TrackMaker (gtm) maps to MS Streets & Trips (est).
The GPS BabelGUI-2 uses this string: gpsbabel.exe -p "" -w -i gtm -f "c:\MapConvert\map1.gtm" -o s_and_t -F "c:\MapConverted\map1.est"
The software reports a successful conversion ("Converted successfully from "gtm" to "s_&_t").
When I click on the file to open with Streets & Trips, it begins to boot, but then stops and informs me that the created file "has a bad format." With this, the software stops loading and it's all over.
I can't figure it out, please advise.

We don't write est files. Your command writes a S&T waypoint file that has
an .est name.
What a file is named and what's in the file are different things.
http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-development/fmt_msroute1.html covers our EST
support - it's read only.
http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-development/fmt_s_and_t.html describes our
s_and_t reader and writer.
If your file actually contains waypoints, the tutorial linked on that last
page may help.
Oh, and we never convert maps.

gdal_translate and gdalwarp are your best bet for that. http://www.gdal.org (FWtools)
