The Oregon does not use the same software ath teh (older) GPSMap and eTrex series. These required special software to transfer track logs. For the Oregon (and Colorado) you mount the GPS as a USB mass storage device (a disk), and simply copy the gpx files to or from the right folder. From there it is a normal gpx file (and you should treat it as such). Hope this helps, Maarten |

That's why that model is marked with footnote two in the doc at http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-development/fmt_garmin.html GPSBabel 1.3.6 has code that detects Colorado and works around this for you, but ISTR that it fails on Oregon. It's been fixed in the development tree. When your Oregon goes into mass storage mode, it shows up in Finder and can be accessed as GPX files in /Volumes/Garmin/GPX - in fact, you can pull those right into Earth. RJL |
