I use a Globalsat BT-335 GPS logger, which connects to the PC via Bluetooth.
My Bluetooth dongle assigns a rather high COM-Port number (e.g. port 41). I
have no way of changing this number and therefore can't choose a lower one
(I don't even have physical serial-ports in my PC so they would all be
I want to use GPSBabel to read new tracks from my logger. However it
apparently only supports ports 1-4. Searching the web I've found a software
that maps my COM-Port 41 to a virtual COM-Port 1:
Using it I was able to read the tracks from my logger with GPSBabel.
This mapping software acts as advertised but is shareware. After 15 days of
trial it costs $ 130 :-(
Therefore I wanted to know if it is possible to get GPSBabel to recognize
COM-ports higher than 4? Alternatively it would be great if a freeware or
open source solution would exist to map the ports. They should be able to
run under Win7 x64.
Thanks in advance for any help!
