I just subscribed to this list. I don't use gpsbabel much, but I need it
to exchange routes and tracks with an eTrex Venture Cx. Many thanks for
this very cool piece of software BTW.
As I'm working on Linux, I missed a GUI to gpsbabel. Thus I started to
write an application using the Qt4 toolkit. It's an GPL'ed open source
application, and thanks to Qt4 it even runs on Mac and Windows. It's
not a competitor to the existing GUIs but my personal
project to learn more about Qt4 cross platform hacking.
Currently the application is still buggy as hell, but I cannot make the
effort to do all the testing on all platforms by myself. That's why I'm
looking for some help. I'd be glad if anyone would play with it and
share his or her thoughts.
Currently it's available in english and german languages only. If you
are familiar with editing XML files in a UTF-8 capable text editor, you
can easily contribute your mother tongue. No programming skills are
required to do that. Just drop me a line and I'll send the needed files
and some instructions.
I hope the application will be helpful for some people and this message
therefore is suitable to this list.
Thanks & best regards,
