This has driven me crazy for a long time. It was a design mistake
(mine) that had ingrained in GPSBabel. Back in the old days, I was
suffering from fear of floating point and had the delusion that I wanted
to store things like coordinates as a struct with components for sign,
fractional degrees, etc. Before GPSBabel ever "shipped", I think, that
idea was discredited and we were left with a struct that had three
members, each of which had one member. This doesn't hurt the user, but
it makes our internals unsighly.
I'm ready to rip that band-aid off. I have in my pocket a patch of the form:
If any of you have any outstanding patches that you forsee coming in
over the next few days, this would be a good time to drop me a note
because once I commit this, your code is going to burst into flames.
Admittedly, it's a trivial search and replace to address this but I
wanted to throw out a "heads up".
Drop me a note before Wednesday night if you think this will ruin your
life in some way.
