Open Track-140525-133057 Crusty.kml Track-140525-133057 Crusty.kml in Google Earth Then in GE expand the file to show the first folder. That folder has your track. Right click and "Save Place as.....kmz. Try that kmz file in your GPSBabel formula. Also....that file has terrible coordinates. The track goes thru big buildings, houses, crosses major roads diagonally, goes thru security fences around a water tank and a parking lot, etc. The device did not have a good satellite lock at all. You are using the wrong part of the kml file you were sent.

Open Track-140525-133057 Crusty.kml Track-140525-133057 Crusty.kml in Google Earth

Then in GE expand the file to show the first folder.

Attached is a KML file I've been sent.  It shows a track when viewed with Google Earth.  But when I use GPSBabel to convert to a GDB file I get  "translation successful" but an empty file .   When I save the track from Google Earth as a new KML file I get a completely different format, but the result is the same;  "translation successful" but an empty file.

The attached JPG is a picture of the GPSBabel run.

Would appreciate any suggestion about what I'm doing wrong.

Regards, Barry
