I agree with Marvin that starting in ~/.gprename is useless, but I like the 'remember last directory' option (and have recommended it before). Gwenview, to name one example, has this option and it is very useful. Kaffeine seems also to follow this method, as do KGet, Firefox downloader, and the DownThemAll! Firefox extension, to name just a few. Of course one can set the menu to start the program in any directory, but I find that in the course of actual use, no single directory is what I want. Rather, I tend more often to wish the program started where I last used it, as I am more likely to use it in that place at next startup. While I'm at it, I wish pane sizing adjustments would retain settings during last use. At present they revert to some default I don't like. I'm referring to the left pane/right pane, and 'Name/New name' columns in particular. The hidden files/directories toggle is an excellent idea, particularly if available by, say, right-click context menu in the left pane where the tree is. I wish Konqueror had this left-pane option in file management mode (it does have it in the right pane). I realize right-click isn't apparently used in the current version. Likewise, I believe the number of files and directories display would be a useful addition. Just my views ;-) --- Zurd <zu...@ya...> wrote: > --- Marvin Stark <ma...@de...> a écrit : > > > Hi, > > > > On Saturday 01 September 2007 22:35, Zurd wrote: > > > Those are very good suggestions, I'll try to > implement them in SVN next > > > week. > > > > > > --- richard lucassen <spa...@lu...> a > écrit : > > > > Hello Zurd, > > > > > > > > Sorry to disturb you by mail, I just have > something for the wishlist: > > > > > > > > - start directory in ~/.gprename > > > > - option "remember last directory" > > > > - toggle on/off of hidden files and > directories in ~/.gprename > > > > I would keep $PWD as start directory... > ~/.gprename is useless.... > > Otherwise we should add an option where the user > can define his starting > > directory. > > I agree, a start directory isn't that useful, if > you're in command line, set > an alias to always start at a specific location and > if you're using an icon, > just modify it, so there's not even a need for an > option to select a starting > directory. > > And this keeps me thinking, does an option to > remember the last directory is > still useful?
