I agree, a start directory isn't that useful, if you're in command line, set an alias to always start at a specific location and if you're using an icon, just modify it, so there's not even a need for an option to select a starting directory. And this keeps me thinking, does an option to remember the last directory is still useful? Is there any other applications out there having a similar option? It's quite simple to implement though. However the toggle on/off for hidden files is a very good idea. I also thought about a Status bar at the bottom where it can says the number of files and directories, like '23 Files and 3 Directories'. > .""`.
