Having used GPRename v1.3 on an FC4 box for some time without problems, I thought to take advantage of the faster and nicer interface offered by GTK2 and your new features. I did have to install perl-Gtk2.i386 (1.121-1.fc4) and perl-Glib.i386 (1.120-1.fc4) to satisfy dependencies, but this completed without difficulty, as did the subsequent successful install of GPRename v1.7 via svn checkout. Version 1.7 loads fine and performs, usually, the first rename task without a problem. However, subsequent operations (any renaming with any option, so far as I can tell) operates not merely on the *selected* files but *all* the files in that directory, with predictably awful results. Attempts to fix the bad renames only makes things worse. This does not happen on a FC6 box also running GPRename v1.7 svn checkout 9. Perhaps it is something to do with the FC4 Gtk2 code? While not a trace, perhaps this may help: [lacrocivious@courtesan emptydir]$ gprename & [1] 15131 [lacrocivious@courtesan emptydir]$ Use of uninitialized value in numeric eq (==) at /usr/share/gprename/bin/gprename.pl line 675. Use of uninitialized value in numeric eq (==) at /usr/share/gprename/bin/gprename.pl line 675. An actual trace can be provided if you need it. I reverted to v1.3 and used it without problem, verifying there was no substantive other change. Then I re-checked out svn revision 9 and reinstalled it, and ran a test on a directory containing copied files. The bug repeated itself with this new install of v1.7. Please let me know what else you may need to find the source of this problem. Thank you. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
