Can't you just do a Replace/Remove to strip the extension first ?
Replace .txt for nothing and it will become "file" then just add the string
"text" at the beginning. You can easily do this in 2 operations.
Just to let you know, I'm not developping this software anymore for many
reasons, though I will add your translations and make a new version with it.
