Software RIT and XIT would allow to apply a small (e.g. +/- 5 kHz) corrections to the RX or TX frequencies without affecting the other. Such corrections are necessary when either the ground transceiver or the satellite transponder is not properly calibrated. The functionality is similar to RIT and XIT on the transceivers and a software emulated RIT/XIT would be useful for transceivers where these functions are difficult to access or do not exist.
