#77 Inconsistency in Log Browser

gui (10)

The level column in the display shows NONE,BUG, ERROR, WARNING, DEBUG, or TRACE. However in the summary screen the list is Bugs, Errors, Warnings, Messages, Debug. These should be consistent.

(In the user manual these are described as:errors, warnings, info and debug messages.)

Initial thought of a fix, is change TRACE to Message in the level column to make the screen consistent.

The user manual was right. The mess in the code was due to code inherited from grig, which shares debug infrastructure with hamlib.

Is there guidance on what qualifies as an Error, Warning, Info, or Debug? I could not find any.

    To me the terms mean:
Error: A condition occurred that results in an incorrect result or crash.
Warning: An unexpected condition that might yield unexpected result.
    Info: A significant condition occured.
    Debug: A routine condition occurred.

There are places in the code where they seem inconsistent. As an example of an event that seems over notified is a TLE missing is an update. This seems it should be a warning or Info as opposed to the ERROR it is now. A satellite decay would make this a routine event.
