#1 Cannot configure gpic

This is what I get when trying to configure gpic. I have installed (painfully!) all of the prerequisites. But whatever I do, I can't get the configure script to recognize my ruby headers. I have ruby development packages installed from Ubuntu Lucid repositories for both version 1.8 and 1.9 and I even built and installed ruby 1.9.1 myself, but still the problem remains.
