I have a Kodak DX6490 camera that has until the past month or so worked flawlessly in Linux (since June '05). I noticed that the last time the camera successfully connected was December 28, 2006
I know that when it connects via the USB port the gphoto2 screen pops up and detects my camera and there is a beep or audio acknowledgment, and then it lets me select images to Import. Not any more -- it stops at about the 95% spot on the progress bar. And I have to use the XKill program to get rid of the screen.
The gphoto2screen says "No camera detected".
I have uninstalled gphoto2 2.3.1-3 and gphoto2-devel 2.3.1-3, which caused my Gnome to temporarily not load, but it's OK now (had to reinstall gnome-session, gnome-volume-manager, and gthumb).
Since then the camera refuses to detect. I have a copy of the debug file, attached:
