I loaded gphoto2 / libgphoto2 /and/ gtkam from Mandrake... all these programs showed up fine... it is trying to move pictures from my camera to the computer where a problem occurred. A message on the camera says "camera is connected to computer"... The camera itself (an HP 435) is not listed in the gphoto list... BUT... gtkam DOES seem to autodetect it, as: "USB PTP Camera" (a generic camera type I guess)... ...so... with the camera saying it +IS+ connected to the computer, and gtkam apparently autodetecting the camera, I try to upload pictures, but get an error message in gtkam: "camera is not connected". ?? Quick review... the camera says it IS connected... the program is detecting it... so, how now can it [not] be connected ? I'm at a loss... while the older gphoto2 version, with libgphoto2 and gtkam all load fine from my CD, I cant get the newest version compiled at all... I tried this because my camera is listed specifically (as an HP 43*) in the latest gphoto2 list. I'd rather do it with the gphoto2 from CD which I know work on my system... maybe, is there a way to add a newer camera to the older installation ? Anyway_ does this problem sound familiar to anyone ? Anybody know how to fix it ? I hope so :) |
