SQ905 issues again. I run a Mitek CD30P as many of you know, which has intermittedly worked on and off with the 2.1.2 drivers, but not with the 2.1.3 drivers. The latest debian release version of the package does not download photo's at all, though 2.1.2 cvs versions did so for a while. 2.1.3 drivers download photos get a segfaut and the images are a little wierd colour and image distortion wise. I rebooted to windows (a rare and ghastly process, something I just hate doing) and downloaded the photos fine, with little to no distortion beyond the norm for my poor photo taking skills and the cheap componentry of this bargain camera. root@zeus:~/media# gphoto2 -P Downloading 'pict001.ppm' from folder '/'... Each image should be a non-compressed 640x480 pixal image. There are eleven photo's taken and gphoto2 outputs them to ppm format. I will jpg the first three and compress them to a tar.gz file and name it linux-photos.tar.gz. I will take the first three of the windows outputted bmp files and do the same, putting the outputted jpg files into windows-photos.tar.gz file. Attaching both. I have also run a gphoto2 --debug summary on the device and have tar.gz'd the output attaching that as gphoto2debugsummary.tar.gz Thankyou once more for your fine efforts with this camera. A friend of mine and I are hopeing to write more complete drivers for webcam delivery of this camera, a project limited work has been already accomplished and then handed to us. The project we are undertaking is based at; http://www.sf.net/projects/sqcam Due to a great deal of e-mail being sent to me due to a public letter I posted regarding wishing to find linux based drivers for this camera, I have decided to update that letter and have placed it here; http://alphadimensions.net/~vic/attachments/camletter.html which points people in the various directions of gphoto and our sourceforge site. Thanks for such a great job guys. People with any expertise or knowledge regarding the SQ905 based camera's and who wish to help us amataurs attempt to make a webcam driver which will compile on 2.6 based kernels, please don't hesitate to contact me. |
