Unfortunately my XP installation currently does not acknowledge the cameras requests at this time, so I cannot do network sniffs. What I known is that the camera sends SSDP requests (to port 1900) which I think are parts of Universal Plug and Play. They look vaguely HTTP like. However, since I already get a connect on the standard port 15740 of the camera service discovery should not be necessary. I however just get refused even if I use the Windows GUID, like you did.
