I am trying to use my Olympus OM-D E-M5 mkII with gphoto2. I have Ubuntu 19.04, I have installed gphoto2 and updated it to version 2.5.23
This version of gphoto2 is using the following software versions and options:
gphoto2 2.5.23 gcc, popt(m), exif, no cdk, no aa, no jpeg, no readline
libgphoto2 2.5.23 all camlibs, gcc, ltdl, EXIF
libgphoto2_port 0.12.0 iolibs: disk ptpip serial usb usbdiskdirect usbscsi, gcc, ltdl, USB, serial without locking
I am not bale to get even one capture.
I plug in the camera in USB, turn it on, choose the icon of computer connected to camera (this is the mode I choose if I want to control the camera in Windows with Olympus Capture and it works as it should there). When I choose the icon, I get message One Moment on the camera screen.
Then I type and run gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=logfile.txt –capture-image-and-download
I see that a driver loads, camera then gives me a live view and the Ubuntu terminal just freezes.
I hear no shutter closing, or any sign that camera took a picture.
It takes couple of minutes until I get a message in terminal saying
Error
PTP I/O Error
ERROR: Could not capture image.
ERROR: Could not capture.
I have tried gtkam, entangle, darktable. Gtkam and entangle detect my camera as Olympus E-M1. If I press OK in gtkam, program just freezes. Finally I get message Gtkam Digital Camera Browser is not responding. If I choose model Olympus E-M5 Mark II for my camera I instantly get message Could not initialized camera.
