Hi,
I am trying to control a Sony a7s ii in PC Remote Mode with a RPi A+ and gphoto2. I have installed gphoto2 with the gphoto2-updater.sh for RPi. There are no gvfs files with gphoto2 running.
I want to have the camera plugged into the USB at start up so that a .sh program in .bashrc will have the gphoto2 command to take a picture.
Problem I am encountering is that I am getting the PTP I/0 error and I can detect the camera, but no other gphoto2 commands work. If I unplug the camera and replug it in, I have no issues, but this does not work for my application since the instrument I'm developing will be underwater and I can't be there to unplug and replug the USB everytime.

ERROR: Could not capture.
Attached is the debug file.
Any suggestions? Else, I need to reconsider the entire instrument.
is this just happening on startup then?
can you add a bit of sleeping to your script?
Hi Marcus,
No, unfortunately. It happens at anytime if the camera has been plugged in on start up. If I boot the computer with the camera plugged in and delay any amount of time starting gphoto2, I can’t access the camera.
The problem is that boot up does something to the camera that won’t allow me to access it.
Camille
