Hi,

I got an issue using my Nikon D3300 for capturing movies with
gphoto2 --set-config movie=1 --wait-event=10s --set-config movie=0 --wait-event-and-download=2s unless wheather I use sudo or not.
Message output: After some UNKNOWN PTP Property xxxx changed (xxxx=hex numbers), it says something like "Wait 1 second for events. Press Ctrl-C to cancel." (I translated it) and then after one or two more UNKNOWN PTP... it says:
"gphoto2: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/lib/libgphoto2_port/0.12.0/usb1.so: undefined symbol: libusb_strerror"

The movie is correctly written to the sd card of the camera but after this message I cannot use it anymore unless it switched it off and back on. Capturing pictures and preview is working very well.
I am using libusbx-1.0.18, libgphoto2-2.5.8 and gphoto2-2.5.8

If you need more details please let me know.

Kind Regards
Heribert

Hi, I tried the Nikon D3300 now on a Debian jessie system (the same device) with libgphoto2-2.5.8.1. This time it says PTP I/O Error. Directory not found. Error -107. I attached the debug logfile for better analysis.
If there are any requirements please let me know.

    Thanks
    Heribert

One additional information. I think there is something wrong with the '--wait-event-and-download=2s'. When I just take the movie it works and I can download the file afterwards. Though it would be much faster and easier to do it in one step.

but the strerror missing symbol no longer appears right?

the logfile has a timeout on the 0x1007 opcode (getobjecthandles)

That is correct. The strerror has gone since I have installed from the github. I tried the latest version once again and the error "directory not found" is still there. I attached the logfile.
