#1014 Live preview does not work - Nikon D300

Hi,

First, thanks for the job! Everything working fine ... except the live preview.

Gphoto2 : 2.5.3
Libgphoto : 2.5.3.1
Camera : Nikon D300
Computer : Macbookpro 15" running under Ubuntu 14.04LTS
Connexion : USB

When typing "--preview-capture"

It open a new window, but it's black with strange lettering (see attachment).
And in the terminal it say :

XIO: fatal IO error 12 (Ne peut allouer de la mémoire) on X server ":0"
after 443 requests (443 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

Any solution?

(Ps : I'm a noob on linux...)

in earlier releases it was a "easter egg" that if gphoto2 was built with aalib it was displaying a ascii art of the preview.

• build gphoto2 without aalib headers
• 2.5.3 should have this disabled actually, did you or the packager forcefully enable it?

so if you built it yourself, do not build with aalib.

i see ubuntu has this as default ... weird
