Sony Alpha-A7 IV (PC Control) problem
(well github is prefered these days) I see Pentax K5D listed, which is probably the K5. I do not think we can help with cleaner HDMI output though from the gphoto side.
The error appears to be that the camera cannot buffer commands and so capture fails when IO between the camera and PC is taking place. As this takes an indeterminate amount of time no amount of waiting between shots will fully resolve the problem.
Clean hdmi output for pentax k5
can you try insertign a short wait before the capture: gphoto2 --wait-event=1s --capture-image-and-download or perhaps 2s if this makes it more reliable?
Canon 2000D - Error (-110: 'I/O in progress')
It seems from http://www.gphoto.org/manufacturers/ that Olympus were contacted a long time ago to see if they would provide the necessary information. Maybe the new owners, OMDS, would be more cooperative?

PTP I/O error with Canon on 2nd command
Please open a new ticket, preferable in https://github.com/gphoto/libgphoto2/issues
Well... I use a Nikon D800 and this issue occurs. First try is good, picture is taken and downloaded, second attempt messes. Installation: Raspberry Pi / Raspbian 10 (latest) gphoto2 2.5.28.1 (from github) libgphoto2 2.5.22 (from github) libgphoto2_port 0.12.0 Erreur PTP I/O Error On the upper the screen of the camera, a progressbar is infinitely progressing and restarting as if it is looking for a connection to the RPI. It totally freezes the camera, I need to remove the battery for restart.

github issues are prefered these days, or via our email lists check if libgphoto2 is at 2.5.27 if not yet ... Can you reproduce this with e.g. interval capture from the commandline tool? It would be good to have a debuglogfile of this.
