• Duplicity: This is a similar backup tool, which has advantages and disadvantages over gpgBackup. It is able to make incremental file backups so it saves space when a large file has little changes, and supports several backup protocols. It does not, however, support incremental rolling backups, so you need to make full backups from time to time.
• rsync: One of the most popular backup tools. It is used to create filesystem mirrors. It lacks some of gpgbacukp features, however. It is able to transmit data securely over the network but it is not capable of storing the data encrypted nor keeping a history of file changes. Moreover, it is not serverless oriented, meaning you need shell access or a rsync server on the storage server in order to use rsync efficiently.
