We here introduce a novel Cytoscape plugin, GPEC, for prioritizing candidate genes which are most likely to be associated with specific diseases or pathways. In the plugin, the gene prioritization is performed through the random walk with a restart algorithm along with a gene/protein relationship network. A user can also collect biological evidences for the putative candidate genes (highly ranked genes) in an efficient way.
