Igor,
The first goal is to use the software we create to run a set of
sites in the Javalobby network. These include the new JavaJobs,
JCentral, GotJava (eventually), etc. While we're doing this, we also
want to make sure that we don't create something that is unusable to
others. In the Java space, I don't feel that there is something as easy
to use for communities as say PhpNuke has in the Php+Apache sphere. You
are right that our first goal is to create a community that helps out
all developers and users alike, it just happens to be a nice side effect
that the software we are creating will fill a gap in the available
software to the Java community as a whole. That said, we will need to
focus on the content of our portal site once we have developed the
backend, as that will be just as important in the end.
