gossimon seems to be just what I am looking for, but have some questions: 1. Why does the infod.map file insist on have 127.0.0.1 address present? In a cluster, how is "localhost" useful info? 2. Am trying to use this on two machines in a cluster. My infod.conf looks like this, on both machines: # # NOTE: This file must be the same on all machines in the cluster! # # NOTE: 127.0.0.1 is required 1 127.0.0.1 1 2 10.0.0.5 1 3 10.0.0.7 1 There's no firewall and other cluster software I am running between the two machines (e.g. gluster, heartbeat and cassandra) all work Running infod-client -h 10.0.0.5 or infod-client -h 10.0.0.7 produces same result: says there are 3 machines in the cluster and that onlu "localhost" is alive 3. In addition to the port 8000 mentioned in the documentation and config file, when infod is running it also seems to use two other ports (partial output from nmap below): 12000/tcp open cce4x 16000/tcp open unknown Is this right and, if so, shouldn't it be mentioned in the documentation? Thanks |

Basically is should not contain 127.0.0.1 after you configure it to contain your cluster nodes. > 2. Am trying to use this on two machines in a cluster. The default file contains INFOD_NIC="lo" as the interface to listen to. This is again so a default install will work on a single node. Once you update your /etc/gossimon/infod.map and /etc/default/infod files make sure all cluster nodes have the updated files. > There's no firewall and other cluster software I am running between the two machines (e.g. gluster, heartbeat and cassandra) all work > > Running infod-client -h 10.0.0.5 or infod-client -h 10.0.0.7 produces same result: says there are 3 machines in the cluster and that onlu "localhost" is alive > Once you correct the above files. Run infod on the cluster nodes (in your case 10.0.0.5 and 10.0.0.7). Then you can run infod-client from the cluster nodes or from other nodes (assuming you have the infod-client binary installed on those nodes). You can also use the mmon client to get a curses based graphical display of the cluster nodes status. > 3. You are correct, I forgot to mention those ports in the documentation, will be fixed in 1.8.9 when it is released.
