+The underlying image is calculated when the parameters change and cached to reduce processing time.

+The frames produced can be specified as RGB32 or YCrCb.  This is advantageous, as the image is cached in the desired format, and copies are issued.  Choosing the appropriate output type will reduce the number of conversions required.
