I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and I just installed googsystray today. At first it wouldn't run at all unless I used the terminal as admin. So I chown'd and chmod'd the file in /usr/local/bin/. Now I can start the program by clicking on it in the Applications menu. This brings up the config window. But after I set my preferred settings, when I click okay nothing happens. The window doesn't close. There's no tray icon. No notifications. I can close the config window by clicking X, but then when I restart the program all my settings are gone. The program isn't working for me. Not sure why. Might be because I have (by default in Ubuntu 9.10 I think) pygtk 2.16 instead of 2.14. If this is the source of the problem, can you update googsystray to use 2.16? I don't think I can downgrade to 2.14.
pygtk 2.16 isn't a problem. Can you attach any log files from /tmp/googsystray/?
This is what I'm getting now. I was getting something else with an error message (permission denied, I think) before I did chown and chmod.

Hrm. It seems to be a problem with the gtk theme. Do other GTK apps run OK? Other pygtk apps? I don't believe I need to do anything explicit to support themes.
Has this resolved? I'm looking to close old bugs.
I'm having this issue as well, how can I help?
Are there any errors in the logs in /tmp/googsystray-<username>/ (where <username> is your username)?
