No objections here.   I'll be traveling in a few days to declutter my
mother's house, preparing for a caretaker to move in for this winter.
Seems to be a common theme these days.

I've been trying to recruit a replacement Golly Pattern Collection
Maintenance Person (or three).  There's some hope of volunteers taking over
for me eventually.  Not in time for Golly 5.0, though, clearly!  Discussion
of pattern-collection improvements started happening, but then didn't
gather any momentum:

Now, in an emergency, I could actually find some time next week to do at
least a small sample set of improvements -- adding @NAMES to more of the
ruletables distributed with Golly, checking in a replicator demo pattern
that William Buckley sent me, patching a few out-of-date collections, etc.
If it's worth waiting a week for those checkins, then I'll promise to make
them happen before October 31.

(I'll only be working half time Oct 27-31, to leave room for
house-decluttering ... and no one else will be in said house to be
disturbed by late-night testing and checkin marathons.)

However, of course it's a task much larger than a week or two weeks to
bring the pattern collection up to anywhere near current.

The possible silver lining of yet another Golly version coming out with
little or no cleanup in the pattern collection, is that it _might_ finally
convince new volunteers to step up and join the Golly Gang -- on the
grounds that I'm really really serious about not having enough time to
devote to that work at the moment.
