create a screen to allow the user to customize key mappings
probably dependent on the ability to save/restore settings, though it could be implemented first and only work for the life of the program
one thing to consider: does asking the player to configure which key they want to be the "side-step" key when their character cannot side-step going to be confusing? will it give away secrets that the player is supposed to learn in-game?
