2. As a nice example one can do with PDF - have a look at 
http://www.renderx.com/Tests/hammer/hammer.fo.html in special,
and  http://www.renderx.com in general :-)

3. Again: Do it in XML - no other format. What scheme/dtd is
used does not matter so much. Unfortunately there is no need to
use eiffel for transformations - XSL is something like a functional
programming language to transfor XML into nearly everything ...
